Logs being collected by a series of overhead cables. On the right is a modified crane (cherry picker) mounted on a flatcar. The cherry picker would reel the logs into place and special tongs were used to place the logs on a flatcar. A "V" with a diamond shaped background is visible on the machine's side, indicating it belonged to Victoria Lumber and Manufacturing Company.

Donor indicated that this photo, as well as the rest donated with it, is dated from 1937 and is of Franklin River. Logging began at this area in 1934 by MacMillan Bloedel (then known as Bloedel, Stewart and Welch).
