The Shawnigan Lake Lumber Company was established at the current Old Mill Park site in 1890. Shawnigan Lake Lumber operated a sawmill on the E&N Railway at Shawnigan Lake, between 1889 and 1943, when the company was acquired by H.R. MacMillan Export. There were 3 major fires at the mill. After the last fire in 1945 the mill was not replaced. The photograph is from a blue album labelled 'FMP' (Forest Museum Photos). |
