The photographs in this accession are from the Estate of Jens Mogens Wiedswang and depict his career in the logging industry. Jens Mogens Wiedswang (1897 - 1993) was a Norwegian high rigger who logged in Copper Canyon, Youbou (Camp 6), Tahsis, Chilliwack, Fanny Bay and Salt Spring Island, to name a few. As such, he worked for a variety of different companies, like Victoria Lumber and Manufacturing Company. He began logging in 1920. A high rigger is a logger who specializes in climbing and trimming a spar-tree and then attaching the cable guys, rigging blocks and lines to it.
