Provenance |
Bear Creek Camp was located in the San Juan River Valley. Malahat Logging Company initiated logging in the area, building the Bear Creek trestle in 1939, and in 1946 BC Forest Products took over operations. Founded by E. P. Taylor, British Columbia Forest Products Limited (BCFP) was a forestry company that operated from 1946 to 1986. BCFP operations included timber production, pulp and paper, veneer, plywood and transportation. For many years, it was considered to be the second largest forest company operating in British Columbia. Fletcher Challenge Limited of New Zealand purchased BCFP in 1987 and merged it with Crown Forest Industries. (From First Growth) |
