The photographs in this accession are from the Estate of Jens Mogens Wiedswang and depict his career in the logging industry. Jens Mogens Wiedswang (1897 - 1993) was a Norwegian high rigger who logged in Copper Canyon, Youbou (Camp 6), Tahsis, Chilliwack, Fanny Bay and Salt Spring Island, to name a few. As such, he worked for a variety of different companies, like Victoria Lumber and Manufacturing Company. He began logging in 1920. While it is unknown where and when this photograph was taken, it was taken somewhere on Vancouver Island. |
