Provenance |
Camp 3 was established in the 1920s. By 1929 there were close to 200 loggers working at the camp. It closed during the Great Depression and re-opened in 1934. It was taken over by Industrial Lumber Mills Co. with BC Forest Products later taking over operations in 1946. In 1985 the camp was razed. Founded by E. P. Taylor, British Columbia Forest Products Limited (BCFP) was a forestry company that operated from 1946 to 1986. BCFP operations included timber production, pulp and paper, veneer, plywood and transportation. For many years, it was considered to be the second largest forest company operating in British Columbia. Fletcher Challenge Limited of New Zealand purchased BCFP in 1987 and merged it with Crown Forest Industries. (From First Growth) |
