Watchman's Shanty at Kelsey Bay, Salmon River. It is a small wooden building placed next to railway tracks. A Watchman's Shanty would also be called a gatehouse. Before electronically-triggered crossing gates were commonplace, railroads would typically keep an employee at busy crossings to lower gates and stop traffic when trains approached.
