Colour photo of chopping block loads in gondolas. Gondola branded "CN 15S309." Headed for Sea World in Cleveland, Ohio. Half loads were loaded at Sooke Lake due to the Kinsol Trestle being condemned. A small switch engine (green in back of photo) moved the half loads to Deerholme where they were fully loaded. This was the last load to cross the Kinsol Trestle. (unsure if photo is at Deerholme or Sooke Lake).

Man sitting in a Caterpillar Sixty. The Sixty was a 60 horsepower (45 kW) crawler tractor manufactured from 1925 - 1931. It was the largest tractor in Caterpillar's product line at the time. Written on the back: "Uncle Bill Cletrack with a jammer Logging Stone Property, Gibbins Rd. Late 1938" Gibbins Road is a road in west Duncan.

Photograph depicts logs being loaded onto the back of a truck, with an unidentified man seated in the front of the steering wheel (who appears to be either shielding his head or scratching his back). Wooden plank roads, known as fore-and-aft roads which were constructed of hand-hewn timbers laid on crossties, are also visible. Note the lack of hard hats. Written on the back: "Shovel(?) + Early Truck Cowichan Valley"
