    Four men watching stumps get pulled out of the ground with a yarding cable. There is something printed in Kanji on the back of the photo which says "No.5's Donkey". Donor's relative, Shuichi Shinkawa, worked for Hillcrest Lumber Company. 2019.004.004 references Timberland. Both companies logged in the Cowichan Valley so it is likely this photograph was taken somewhere in the Cowichan Valley.

    Alberni Pacific locomotive #2 sitting stationery on some tracks with a crowd of onlookers. The locomotive is nicknamed "2-spot" after its number plate, and it is a 1912 locomotive built by the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima Ohio. It is a Class B 42-2 (3 cylinders/2-trucks/8 drivers) 42 ton engine. It is a shay and is at the McLean Mill Historic Site.
